Federal Bills and Regulations Tracking Database

Purpose

The Federal Bills and Regulations Tracking Database is a two-in-one database used to track the status of federal bills and federal regulations.

With the Bills Database, you will be able to answer the following questions: (1) How many bills were enacted by status? (2) How many bills were enacted by month? (3) How many bills were enacted by month? (4) The total number of bills that became effective in a particular month? With the Regulations Database, you will be able to answer the following questions: (1) How many regulations were adopted by topical category? (2) How many regulations were adopted by month? (3) How many regulations became effective in a particular month? and (4) How many regulations are pending?

Fields

The Bills Database includes the following 6 fields: (1) Bill No.; (2) Topical Category; (3) Summary; (4) Bill Status combo box; (5) Enacted Date; and (6) Effective Date. The Regulations Database includes the following 5 fields: (1) Regulation No.; (2) Topical Category; (3) Summary; (4) Adopted Date; and (5) Effective Date

Reports

The Bills Database includes the following four reports: (1) All Enacted Bills; (2) Bills by Status; (3) Bills by Enacted Date; and (4) Bills by Effective Date. The Regulations Database includes the following five reports: (1) All Regulations; (2) Regulations by Topical Category; (3) Regulations by Adopted Date; (4) Regulations by Effective Date; and (5) Pending Regulations.   All of the reports include a count function that counts bills and laws by status and month.
